Enjoy Your Wedding Day

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Little tips to make sure you get the most enjoyment out of your wedding day.

Don't overdo it the week of your wedding

There is so much to do the week before your wedding so make sure your programs, escort cards and welcome bags are done a couple of weeks before the wedding. Starting with a calm, restful week will put you in the right tone to be stress-free and present on your wedding day. If at all possible, take a day or to off from work to enjoy out of town friends and family, beauty appointments, and breathe!

Break in your shoes before your wedding day!!

Make sure you'll feel comfortable all day at your wedding. Your wedding shoes are probably a little dressier than your everyday shoes so take a couple of hours each night to wear them around the house to break them in. You don't want to be overwhelmed by your aching feet all day. It will be impossible to enjoy your first dance with a painful blister on the back of your foot. When the open dancing starts, feel free to change into a pair of comfy shoes that allows you to dance the night away! Also, make sure the wedding dress you choose is comfortable to sit in and good for moving on the dance floor.

Don't forget to eat Your wedding day will be a long day starting with hair, makeup, and mimosas so you don't want to start the day off on empty. Start off with a good breakfast and eat little snacks throughout the day to keep you energized and happy.

Take time to yourselves between the ceremony & reception

You may be surprised to hear that you'll have very little alone time with your significant other on your wedding day. So be sure to take a moment after the ceremony for some quality time. Escape to the bridal suite or another private area together to catch your breath, talk about the ceremony, and enjoy the first few moments of being newlyweds. As planners, we suggest this to our brides a lot and we let the caterers know about your plan ahead of time so they can have champagne, water and your favorite appetizers ready for you to enjoy.

Put your phone away

On your wedding day, you don't need any distractions. Put your phone in your purse or ask a family member or friend to carry it for emergencies only. You've hired a professional photographer, so you don't need to take photos, and anyone you'd think to call or text will be there in person. Your wedding planner will also be intercepting any calls from your vendors. If there was ever a time to unplug, your wedding day is it.

Hug your parents and say "Thank You"

Your parents have been by your side from the start of your wedding planning. Take a special moment with your parents to thank them. Have a special moment with your mom but don't leave your dad out. Some brides choose to do a first look with their dads, where the photographer captures the moment that a dad sees his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.

Hire a great team of vendors

If you really want to relax on your wedding day, then you must trust the team you've put in place to bring it all to fruition. Hiring wedding vendors that are reliable, experienced and professional will remove all of the stress about what's happening behind the scenes. Your wedding planner will be handling all of the details and logistics of the wedding day with your vendors. This will allow you to walk into the ceremony and reception knowing that everything and everyone are in their place and ready to have a good time! We at Two Girls in Pearls Events, get to know our brides and even their moms so well, that by wedding day we are their eyes and ears.
